Cisco Systems announced its new Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) Protection solution. The company said the solution works via new software for its Traffic Anomaly Detector XT appliance and its new Cisco Traffic Anomaly Detector Service Module for the Cisco 7600 Series Router and Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series Switch, both of which detect and mitigate traffic anomolies. The solution allows service providers to protect their own networks and to offer customers managed protection against DDoS attacks and hosted services and to offer protected wholesale connections.
