An innovative software vendor are seeking an experienced system developer who wishes to remain hands-on writing code in a mixed Python environment, who is capable of being a leader within a team of developers in an eXtreme Programming process.

The product is a mixed usage platform providing value to both external clients through cloud-based web UX and internal researchers through CLI and IDE tools.

As a Senior Python Developer (Python, Django, JavaScript, Cloud) you will be responsible for ensuring the platform provides a strong, reliable, fully tested user-experience - connecting the research libraries to the web UX, and working to implement a world-class "infographic" interface for rapid understanding of behavioral biases.


This position would suit someone with 5-6 years experience delivering systems above a junior level, who might be looking to "escape into start-up".


Responsibilities

- continuously delivering of features using eXtreme Programming techniques into a
- high-availability cloud-based platform
- leadership and ownership of development processes - inspiring the team through demonstrating the principles and practice day-to-day
- participation in planning and product processes as required for development processes
- to be mentor to less experienced coders (both developers and researchers) impressing good
- practices and developing skills
- support and maintenance of production systems
- For the role of Senior Python Developer (Python, Django, JavaScript, Cloud) you will need the following skills:



Extensive knowledge of python (Essential)

- Experience of using agile and be interested in eXtreme Programming practices (Essential)
- Finance experience, particularly hedge-funds or asset management (Essential)
- Experience of dealing with high volume data sequences (Essential)
