TYPO3 / PHP Developer for digital media agency in Berlin

Exciting new social networking platform looking to develop the next generation application.
My client is looking to hire a Senior Developer. The right candidate will be a senior PHP developer with a combined experience of 4 years, including at least 3 years working on MVC frameworks.(i.e. Zend 1, Zend 2, Symfony), and will have an enquiring mind and a desire to learn, above and beyond any specific experience.

Your skills & experience
You must have
• A portfolio of products you've built or led (with at least 1 in PHP)
• Experience in architecting and building complex back-ends
• Passion for elegant, maintainable and scalable code
• Ambition to create a breakthrough product in a start-up environment
• Experience in managing and mentoring other members of a tech team
• Passion for business solutions and enterprise software

What you need
• 4+ years of software development experience (MVC, ORM and unit testing
frameworks, OOP/OOD with PHP)
• 3+ years experience with MVC frameworks specifically Symfony
• Solid understanding of design patterns
• Experience consuming and exposing APIs (SOAP & REST) and B2B integrations
• TDD, BDD and unit testing
• Good database skills (schema and query analysis)
• VCS e.g. subversion, Git - branching, tagging, merging, etc

Nice to have's
• Whilst this is primarily a back-end role, the following would be beneficial.

Experience with:
o HTML5, JQuery, OO Javascript, CSS3
o front-end frameworks (e.g. backbone.js)
o iOS
o SaaS - scale out vs scale up architectures
o ERP platforms
o Keen eye for UX/ UI

The successful candidate will have passion for producing the best code both commercially and in their spare time. We are looking for someone with good Python/Django experience in particular, including any other JavaScript frontend frameworks. You will have the opportunity to develop with the latest tech and influence the direction of platform.

To be considered you must have experience (or proven ability to learn new technology quickly) with some the following:
• Proven experience with full stack development for high volume web applications on production environments
• Python/Django
• Expertise in JavaScript
• Server Side using Node.js
• Architecting Front End code
• Experience with modern frameworks such as Ember, Angular
• Front End web development using HTML5, CSS3
• Object Oriented CSS and understand frameworks such as LESS or Sass
• Understand when to use REST
• MongoDB
• Working knowledge of production issues - load handing, optimisation, caching, CDNs, physical architecture, cloud hosting, etc.
• A degree ideally in computer science is advantageous.

We are looking for TALENT, you will have it in bucket loads. Above all, drive, passion and commitment are as important as experience with specific technologies.
